Introduction:

District Tea producer Cooperative Federation Ltd (DTCF) is established in 2063 BS by collaborating all cooperatives within the Ilam District under Division Cooperative Office Ilam. DTCF Ilam is working for economic and social development of tea farmers through member cooperative with in the coverage area. Currently DTCF is organizing various activities with the help of Agreterra Netherlands, CTCF and others stakeholder. 38 primary cooperatives are the member cooperatives of this federation.

Motivate tea cooperative for the professional organic tea farming and quality production through cooperative and improve the living standard of by marketing the produced and manufactured tea.

Goal:

Associating tea cooperative with in the federation the following are the major goals of DTCF Ilam

  • Institutional development of primary cooperative
  • Organic tea farming and quality production
  • Support for the establishment of processing unit and marketing of produced tea
  • Improve living standard of tea farmer by generating employment opportunities.

 Objectives:

  • Develop and promote primary cooperative and subjective federation within the coverage area.
  • To support member cooperatives and subjective federation for the professional and economic development.
  • To support for the production of tea sampling and marketing
  • To maintain support and coordination with in the primary cooperative and subjective federation
  • To support member cooperative for input supply and marketing support for produced commodities,
  • To organized professional and commercialized activities for the financial improvement of member cooperative
  • To support member cooperative for the professional, economical, technical and social development
  • To associate cooperative in district federation
  • To motivate tea related group to join tea producer cooperatives,
  • To motivate member cooperative for the quality production by implementing international code of conduct of tea and to motivate member cooperative for organic farming
  • To emphasize member cooperative to establish tea processing unit by strengthening their capabilities 
  • To produce organic tea with interrupting the objective and function of cooperatives, governmental, non-governmental, international non-governmental organizations.

Strategy       

  1. Co-operatives  and farmers will be encouraged / motivated for tea farming through training, seminar and workshops.
  2. Knowledge on organic fertilizer, bio-composting and bio-pesticides will be provided for the modern and organic tea production through the conduction of necessary training.
  3. Co-operatives will be conducted through the implementation of the code of conduct.
  4. Necessary recommendation, counseling and co-operation will be extended to co-operatives for tea processing factory and market management.
  5. Necessary advice and counseling will be extended to co-operatives for the commercial and industrial development of the tea farming and employment generation.
  6. Institution and technical services will be provided through co-ordination with other stakeholders.
  7. Co-operatives will be motivated for touristy and environment development through tea farming.
  8. Activities will be carried out through the co-ordination with other organizations and inclusiveness in the organizational structure by including all community sector, class, gender, marginalization and excluded groups, Dalit, ethnic, woman and the disabled. 
  9. Co-ordination will be maintained with other stakeholders to make activities of co-operatives more effective and sustainable.
  10. There will be the production of human resources like technicians and  tea specialists  by co-coordinating with other stakeholders.
