The Central Tea Cooperative Federation Ltd. (CTCF) Nepal and its member tea cooperatives have provided a total of NPR 334,445 in financial support to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund for the relief and rehabilitation of families affected by the devastating landslide and flood in the Bhotekoshi River of Rasuwa District on Bhadra 10, 2083 B.S.
Of the total amount, the Central Federation contributed NPR 30,000. Similarly, Sana Kisan Tea Producers Cooperative Society Ltd., Haldibari, Jhapa contributed NPR 111,111. Sundarpani Tea Producers Cooperative Society Ltd. contributed NPR 51,111; Uccha Pahadi Tea Producers Cooperative Society Ltd. contributed NPR 30,000; Hilltop Tea Producers Cooperative Society Ltd. contributed NPR 25,001; and Sakhejung Tea Producers Cooperative Society Ltd. contributed NPR 22,222.
Likewise, Parakhopi Tea Producers Cooperative Society Ltd. and Tinjure Tea Farmers Cooperative Society Ltd. each contributed NPR 20,000. Aama Tea Producers Cooperative Society Ltd. contributed NPR 10,000, while Triyuga Tea Producers Cooperative Society Ltd., Charkhole Tea Producers Cooperative Society Ltd., and Ajambare Tea Producers Cooperative Society/Aama Tea Producers Cooperative Society each contributed NPR 5,000.
Earlier, the Federation had expressed deep sorrow over the tragic disaster, which caused significant loss of life and property, left many families homeless, injured thousands of people, and left the whereabouts of some individuals still unknown. The Federation expressed its deep condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the flood and wished for the speedy recovery of those injured.
Recognizing the need for support from the government, various organizations, and citizens for rescue, relief, and rehabilitation in the flood-affected areas, CTCF had appealed to its member tea farmers and tea cooperative organizations to provide financial assistance.
