The Central Tea Cooperative Federation (CTCF) Nepal successfully concluded its 15th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday in Ilam, marking an important milestone in strengthening Nepal’s cooperative and tea sector.
The AGM was chaired by Mr. Harka Bahadur Tamang, Chairperson of CTCF Nepal, who presented the annual progress report highlighting the federation’s major activities and key achievements during the past year. He also outlined the upcoming plans and policies focusing on institutional strengthening, sustainable tea production and processing, marketing, and enhanced support to member cooperatives.
During the meeting, Mr. Nagendra Rai, Audit Coordinator, presented the internal audit report, providing a transparent overview of the federation’s financial management and governance practices. The AGM unanimously approved the audit report for the fiscal year 2081/082.
The general assembly also endorsed the annual budget for the fiscal year 2082/083, emphasizing efficient resource mobilization and continued support for member tea cooperatives across the country.
During the meeting, two member cooperatives were honored as Best-Performing Member Tea Cooperatives. The awards were presented to Ramche Tea Producer Cooperative Society Limited, Pakribash Municipality–4, Dhankuta, as the best processing cooperative, and Hilltop Tea Producer Cooperative Society Limited, Deumai Municipality–3, Ilam, as the best production cooperative, for their exemplary contribution to quality tea production, processing, cooperative governance, and member services in their community.
The AGM concluded with a commitment to further strengthen cooperation among smallholder tea producers, promote sustainable practices, and enhance the competitiveness of Nepalese tea in domestic and international markets.
